I'm not sure why I'm up at this hour messing around on the site, but I am, so I figured I'd share some news with you about a few of the films Dimension is bringing our way.First up is the news that the company's Hellraiser reboot will be artriving in theaters in 3-D. I know, it seems like that's what everyone is doing these days, right? Well, let's just say that I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with the higher ticket costs...
Anyway, the film still does not have a director, and it is unclear at the moment who will get credit for the final script. Pascal Laugier (Martyrs) was the last person attached to the project before he parted ways over creative differences (which is unfortunate because I would have liked to see that collaboration).
Dimension is also moving forward with Halloween: 3-D as soon as director Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3-D) is finished shooting his next film, Drive Angry. Halloween's script was written by Todd Farmer (who also wrote Valentine). Personally, I am curious about Halloween because I think Lussier and Farmer did an awesome job with Valentine, and I hope they can make me forget all about the Rob Zombie films in the series.
Next up is Scream 4, which we talked about briefly not too long ago. It seems that Kevin WIlliamson has been confirmed as the screenwriter for the project, and he has denied any truth to the rumors going around that the film will be in 3-D.
It also appears that Dimension will be working on remakes of the horror classics Scanners and An American Werewolf In London.
Sounds like the company is really busy these days, which is a little odd because last I heard they were in financial straits. I guess they're hoping that all these remakes will help breathe some life back into them. Only time will tell, though...
