This weekend the Fear of the Dark crew took a little road trip to Toronto to check out Rue Morgue's infamous Halloween party. Despite the fact that we got slightly lost and ended up walking several miles in the wrong direction (three times), we finally made it to Revival and had a pretty damned good time (from what we can remember, at least)!
Overall, the costumes were pretty good, but I have to admit that I've got a major pet peeve with people who dress up for Halloween with costumes that aren't scary. The whole point of Halloween was to disguise yourself as an evil spirit to avoid being harmed by evil spirits. The last time I checked, Fred Flintstone was not an evil spirit. And whipping out one of your tits and putting tape on your nipple doesn't fall into the "evil" category either (though I must say I've forgiven that one!).
Props to the bartender, who was great and got us good and liquored up without having to wait in any long lines. The performances were also a blast and pretty entertaining (although I am still gagging at the thought of juicing a Hungry Man TV dinner, mixing it with vodka, and then having people drink it... I can still smell the Salisbury Steak... *shiver*).
All in all, it was a very memorable way to end the Halloween season, and we can't wait for the chance to do it again next year. Thanks to Rue Morgue for having such an awesome party, and thanks to all the people who let a gang of ridiculous (and pretty well lit!) American horror geeks take their pictures with you!
Enjoy the pics everyone!
