New Trailer For "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories" Rears Its Head

Though I grew up on classic arcade games like Donkey Kong and 8 and 16-bit console titles like Super Mario World, I quickly acquired an affinity for the survival horror genre with the release of the original Resident Evil for the Playstation back in the mid 90's. It's awesome blend of a video game and a horror movie was right up my alley.

Since then many other franchises have popped up in the genre, and one of them that has been consistently awesome is the Silent Hill series. I still remember playing the original in a dark room at night and getting totally creeped out every time my radio began emitting static, which meant that some sort of deformed monstrosity was coming near.

If you share my love for that title, then you will probably be interested to hear that that game has been given an overhaul and is being re-released for the Nintendo Wii next week (December 8th, to be exact) as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. In anticipation of the game, a (kind of long) trailer has been put online, and we have it below for you to check out. I'll admit, the music is far from creepy, and borders on annoying, but the screens from the game look pretty rad.

For those not familiar with the game, details are as follows:
You play Harry Mason, a man searching for his daughter through the snowy streets of the haunted Silent Hill where he will encounter a cast of characters. This time, however, players are equipped with only a flashlight and cell phone to get story information, solve puzzles and navigate the darkness while escaping the demons that lurk among them.

In addition, a psych-profiling feature has been added to analyze players and adjust itself to their actions
You can bet that I'll be picking this one up in the near future.
